Fabrice Vauclair
School Principal / Chief Instructor
Our RYA Training Centre Seawings is run by Fabrice. He is the school’s Principal and Chief Instructor for sailing yachts, motor cruisers and powerboats. Fabrice has many years of experience in sailing and teaching around the globe, and on many different types of boats. He is licensed by the maritime authorities in the United Kingdom, France, New Zealand and Portugal.
Originally from France, he pursued most of his career abroad. He worked as a Senior Instructor for the Royal Port Nicholson Sailing Academy in Wellington, New Zealand (now Wellington ocean sports). In the UK, Fabrice taught the RYA sailing and motor cruising scheme.
Fabrice has been living and working in Portugal (based in Cascais) since 2011, enjoying the country´s fabulous climate and culture. The area has perfect conditions for RYA sailing courses: lots of interesting places to sail to, plenty of tide and traffic as well as sunshine and good wind all year long.
Fabrice speaks fluently English, Portuguese and French. And he can get by in German, too. He is a passionate instructor and skipper. He understands that students’ time is precious and offers excellent training - delivered professionally in a flexible, friendly, and supportive way.

Rui Belo Silva
Events Skipper
Rui is one of the founding partners of Seawings and has been a sea enthusiast for more than 25 years. With a degree in engineering, he is part of the land team with responsibilities for managing and coordinating all the logistics required for a good performance at sea. He is also a qualified professional skipper.
With many miles navigated along the Portuguese coast and in oceanic trips in the Portuguese islands he is an adept of windsurf and everything that relates to the sea.
